Any advertising utilizing ABCS certification language shall specify the Diplomate’s area of certification, as opposed to the general statement “Board Certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.”

For example, a Diplomate certified in the area of Facial or Dermatologic Cosmetic Surgery shall only use the term, where allowed by state law, Board Certified Facial Cosmetic Surgery or Board Certified Dermatologic Cosmetic Surgery.

The foregoing does not apply if the Diplomate has obtained certification in General Cosmetic Surgery
