logo-abcs-lgThe American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS) is pleased to announce 54 candidates have submitted applications to challenge the ABCS Annual Certifying Examination scheduled for October 20, 2013 in Dallas, Texas at the ABOG testing center. Candidates must first achieve certification from one of seven “core” boards recognized or deemed equivalent of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists (BOS) of the American Osteopathic Association (BOS/AOA). Following certification by a core board the candidate must participate in additional supervised training and surgical experience. Only then may a candidate choose to pursue the elite status of being certified by the ABCS, the only certifying board dedicated to patient safety in Cosmetic Surgery. In general on an annual basis, approximately seventy-five to eighty percent of the candidates pass the examination and join the three hundred and twenty Diplomates actively practicing Cosmetic Surgery in the United States.
