Kristi Sumpter, D.O., is a leading board-certified cosmetic and general surgeon at Winds of Change Cosmetic Surgery in Houston. Dr. Sumpter regularly performs breast surgery (including revisions, augmentations, lifts, reductions, and implant removals), abdominoplasty, mommy makeovers, eyelid surgery, filler and Botox injections, liposuction, and much more.
Dr. Sumpter graduated from the University of Texas, and then earned her medical degree at the University of North Texas in Fort Worth. Dr. Sumpter completed a general surgery residency at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and then did advanced training in pediatric surgery, cancer surgery, gynecology, oncology, and trauma surgery. She also served as a clinical instructor at Michigan State University in East Lansing.
Following her training, Dr. Sumpter worked as a general surgeon in the Lufkin, Texas, area. During this time, she discovered a new passion that combines artistry, creativity, and surgical skill: her current specialty of cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Sumpter completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship recognized by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, in Lake Mary, Florida, and did further specialty training in Beverly Hills, California. Dr. Sumpter returned to her home state of Texas to launch her own cosmetic surgery practice.
Dr. Sumpter dedicates herself fully to her patients and believes in taking the time to really listen to patient needs. She’s there for patients before, during, and after their surgery with gentle support, expert guidance, and true compassion.
Dr. Sumpter has earned the “Houston’s Top Docs” award from H Texas Magazine for many years running, ever since 2005.
The staff at Winds of Change includes a team of credentialed and experienced professionals highly qualified to add to the high level of care Dr. Sumpter demands for her patients. This includes Connie Mize, a licensed aesthetician with more than 20 years of experience in the industry; Vivian Alexatos, a highly trained and licensed massage therapist with a passion for continuing education in her field who offers therapeutic, relaxation, hot stone, and lymphatic drainage massage – very helpful in post-surgery recovery; Tasha Picciarelli, a certified nutritionist that offers detoxification and weight loss programs as well as supplements, meal planning and specific recommended testing in cases as needed, and office support staff to help ensure a positive, thoroughly pleasant experience.
