About The Practice

Oral and Maxillofacial surgery requires extensive hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training. In addition to his training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Owsley completed a fellowship in Facial Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery. As a surgeon board certified in both Facial Cosmetic Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he manages a wide variety of problems relating to the face and mouth. Dr. Owsley diagnoses and treats facial injuries and performs a full scope of procedures with expertise ranging from the removal of wisdom teeth and placement of dental implants to both surgical and non-surgical facial cosmetic procedures.

Carolina Surgical Arts has a fully trained clinical staff to assist in the administration of intravenous sedation and all surgical procedures. Our administrative personnel have knowledge and experience with both dental and medical insurance policies and claim filing procedures if applicable. All staff members are CPR certified and participate in continuing education classes, ensuring they have the most up-to-date training. Our services are provided in an environment of optimum safety, utilizing state-of-the-art monitoring equipment. We are committed to providing the highest quality of patient care.

Our facility is accredited by The Joint Commission. This is a national, not-for-profit, organization dedicated to raising the level of safety and quality of care in all health care settings. The Joint Commission has been the Gold Standard in evaluating hospitals for more than 50 years. Accreditation means that this office has volunteered to undergo the same challenging, comprehensive evaluation as the hospitals in our community. A very small percentage of offices across the country have actually gone through this type of evaluation. Carolina Surgical Arts is the only Oral and Maxillofacial surgery office in the state of North Carolina that has met the rigorous Joint Commission standards and obtained accreditation. By obtaining this accreditation, we hope to show our extraordinary commitment to provide safe, high quality, state-of-the-art care and a willingness to be measured against the highest standards of performance.
